Josh Aikens for Assembly
To my dismay, the New Jersey Legislature has not updated their website to reflect the current legislative district map after the 2021 Redistricting. This new map was adopted in the beginning of 2022, and without going into the Uni-party politics that occurred, New Jersey quietly brushed this once-in-a-decade event under the rug (1). Novice voters and those who are technologically declined are most likely directed to these governmental websites by Google search engines and receive incorrect information. This is a 21st century tragedy towards us Commons.
Josh Aikens is running for State Assembly to represent the 24th Legislative District in North New Jersey; consisting of two townships in Warren County (Allamuchy Township, Independence Township), six municipalities in Morris County (Mount Olive Township, Washington Township, Roxbury Township, Chester Borough & Chester Township, Netcong Borough), and all municipalities in Sussex County (2).
Josh Aikens has served on the Lafayette Township Board of Education for almost a decade before deciding to run for State Assembly, and for the last 3 years Josh has been leading “AriseNJ”, a non-profit 501(c)(3) that successfully helped parents run for their children’s Board of Education. In 2021, AriseNJ helped 300 candidates run for their Board of Education and half of them were elected. Last year, 610 candidates ran for their Board of Education and 510 of them were elected (3). Josh’s leadership within “AriseNJ” persisted throughout the most dastardly and tyrannical times that New Jersey has seen in the past one hundred years. This is why he has earned the opportunity to represent North New Jersey against the Democrats down in Trenton, and this is why you should vote for him in the Republican Primary this June 6th, 2023.
During Mr. Aikens’ interview last year with Elizabeth Nader of Jersey 1st, he spoke about three educational issues at the State level and how he plans on approaching them. First, “No politics for kids!” I was pleased to hear Josh defend his opinion because it is a similar one that I share. I have worked with hundreds of children and teenagers while coaching soccer and I remember always being amazed at the amount of politics they would discuss amongst one another. However, from elementary school up to High school, I never remember discussing politics with friends. Second, Josh made clear that School district “consolidation” should be decided at the local level, but that it doesn’t make much sense logistically for rural districts (4). If readers are unaware, New Jersey has over 600+ school districts (5). Third, Josh Aikens supports school choice, in that school choice ties the funding to the children, instead of the school districts (4).
I have the entire recorded seminar by Assemblyman Jay Webber in my NJ1ST E-Book that exposes New Jersey’s socialist scheme regarding property taxes and regional school district funding (6).
Lastly, here is a Rumble VIDEO that I created eight months earlier, after attending an AriseNJ event by Josh Aikens and Assemblyman Erik Peterson (7).
Vote Josh Aikens for Assembly (LD-24) this June 6th!
